Hello. My great grandfathers Queen medal has come into my possession and I was wondering if anyone would be able to shed any light on his involvement in the Boer war. From what I understand he was an engineer by trade who was constantly moving to and fro between South Africa & Liverpool. The medal inscription suggests he was in the SRV but that is all the information I have. The medal has no ribbon or bars. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to offer any insight, Thanks, Stuart

It is as I put in the subject line PTE F J Phenna S.R.V.(The F J stood for Frederick Jones). The only part I am not totally 100% sure about is the PTE as the TE is a little worn
