Hi There,

James Corrie attested into the CP in Feb 1890. One of the earlier chaps.

I have a copy of his attestation papers somewhere at home and will have a look when back.

Regards

Hi There,

James Corrie attested into the CP Dist 2 in Kimberley on the 25th Feb 1890.

He was 27 years old when he attested into the CP and had previously been employed with the Cape Government Railways prior to his enlisting into the CP. He stated that he had resigned to better himself. He was born in Ireland was single and a Protestant by religion and was 5 foot 7 inches tall. Further than that, his attestation paper show very little extra information not even his Next of Kin !!

He is not on the roll for the CGHGS medal.

Thank you Adrian, pity he didn't list his Next of Kin. His mother is listed only as Mary Jane on the Death Notice I found. Also says he left a will with Chief Det. Chadwick.
