Please note that this gentleman's surname is spelt "Humphery", not Humphrey. I collect Boer postal history and I have two envelopes (called "covers" by stamp collectors) to and from Major Humphery while he was a prisoner-of-war in Pretoria. One postmarked South Kensington to "Major Stanley Humphery, POW, Pretoria (the incoming British POW mail was first received by the United States Consulate in Pretoria), and the other was mailed from Pretoria via Delagoa Bay and Durban to "Edmund Humphery", Princes Gate, London. Both envelopes were censored by both the British and the Boers.
