You have found another good pair to add to your PoW collection. Thank you for sharing it. There may be an interesting story to be told about Smith's capture and release.

Hi John

Smith served in the 42nd Fortress Company RE.
I put 31 March 1900 and In/Near Bloemfontein in my Boer War Database : there were 7 men from 5 units listed as "Died of Disease".
Smith is the only other entry. It is virtually 100% certain that his temporary capture was an isolated happening not recorded in any published source.
