A Queen’s South Africa Medal with four clasps to Trooper T. H. Spry, 47th (Duke of Cambridge’s Own) Company, 13th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry, who was taken Prisoner of War at Lindley on 31st May 1900. Trooper T. H. Spry, an Old Etonian, was subsequently released.

I have given this man his own post in the POW section and also inserted the excellent images into the text so they are easier to see.

Does being an old Etonian have a benefit when it comes to research?

That is a very special POW medal and Justin is bound to know more about the man! He certainly knows a great deal about the Lindley incident. These were definitely a better class of POW!
