The naming on this medal is very similar to the one sold on Ebay.us but the worrying fact there was no sign of him on the roll either as a Trooper or a Lieutenant

That particular medal is not one that I would want to buy, whilst in general terms, I suppose you could say, with some truth, any BSA Co medal is a scarce thing these days, but, you would want a documented example, to be quite honest it is one of those medals that is best bought in a group or as a pair, which was certainly the way I collected them.
