In St Mary's Church, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.

....THE LATE LIEUTENANT THIRKILL. - A handsome monumental tablet has just been erected in the parish church of Ross, by the officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the 88th (Connaught Rangers), to the memory of Lieutenant Thirkill, of that regiment, who died while on active service in Zululand.
