A Scotch cart that is on display at the museum. The information says these carts were used extensively by both sides.

BLOCKHOUSE AT THE ANGLO BOER WAR MUSEUM



The British erected 8 000 blockhouses across the country along the railway lines. This was done in an effort to contain the Boer guerrilla forces and the blockhouses were used in drives by the British forces.

Another glorious visit to the ABW Museum today. It was loverly to meet Elmarie, Victoria and Johan again.

It was also a great opportunity to thank Elmarie for her much-appreciated support for this site.

It is not possible to take pictures inside the museum so I suggest a visit if at all possible.
