Caernarfon Castle - a wonderful place to visit.

Officers and men of the 1st Battalion, and their goat, in South Africa, 1900.

There was also a film compilation to watch of incidents in South Africa.

Agreed, it is a very nice place, the museum appears to be safe, for now, at least.

Berenice
Thank you for showing a great museum in a wonderful setting. I can imagine it inspiring children on school visits, which I believe is one of the most important functions of museums.

Brett

So Berenice, what was your favourite exhibit, you certainly picked a great time to turn up from a weather point of view, temperatures have been up to some twenty eight degrees recently.

Crikey, Frank, that's a difficult question to answer. I liked the way the museum fitted into the towers of the castle (nice and cool on a hot day), and very interesting to see a display relating to the Boxer Rebellion, but my favourite was the film footage from South Africa.

The engine shed at Tientsin defended by the 2nd R.W.F. and the U.S. Marine Corps, in July, 1900. Was that the first time that British and American troops had fought on the same side?
