It is not common to see a casualty from the Natal Native Rebellion of 1906.

Tpr Henry White Steyn , of the Transvaal Mounted Rifles, died of wounds received at Nkhandla Forest on 1 June 1906, Mome Gorge and died on 20 June 1906, and is buried in Eshowe.
He was the son of Henry Steyn and Harriet Agnes Whittle, and was born at Langerand, district Ladybrand on 10 August 1886. He was an overseer.
