I'm surprised there were so few. I have the medals to Buntine

And all to officers..... !

Maybe the actual MIDs were all to officers, but on 10th September 1907 a list of Good Service mentions were made to Other Ranks. There were 85 of these. I have medals to A O Zunckel ( Natal Carbineers ) and L Rudland ( Roystons Horse) . A full list is available in The History of the Zulu Rebellion by J Stuart.
I'm sure that some of you have medals to men on the list.

Thank you for that information. I am currently working through the Boer War MIDs and there is one for Lt Col Evans from the Governor at St Helena which 'to be considered as an MID'. I wonder if these were the same?
