Marginal notes on medal roll suggests he also served in the C M Rifles regimental number 2897. Possibly Cape Mounted Rifles or Canadian Mounted Rifles? I had a quick search for 2897, but no luck.

His QSA with single clasp Cape Colony is listed on WO100/278p231.

I looked through the attestation papers for W McKie and did not find anyone. Thanks to Dave F, I did find the paper for John McKie.
