ABO (Korporaal J C J Botha). City Coins August 2015.
The City Coins footnotes:
When Johannes Botha of the Rouxville Commando applied for his ABO medal in the mid-1940’s his memory was not all that good. He stated on Vorm “B” that he was captured shortly after the fall of Bloemfontein but that actual dates had slipped his memory. He was actually taken prisoner on 1 November 1901 at Aliwal North (PoW No. 24541) and was sent to India on 26
November 1901. Prior to his capture he had seen action at Belmont, Twee Riviere, Magersfontein, etc. Sold with copies of Vorm “B” and PoW Register.
The Forsyth roll states his Commando to be Bloemfontein.
