You can contact Dewald Nel on [email protected] he will be able to provide you with a copy of a Vorm B - this form is the one De Leeuw would have completed when applying for his medal. It contains where he fought, if he was wounded, under which commando he fought and an address for the medal to be sent to.

I don't know how old you are but A De Leeuw would have been born in at least 1885 to have fought in the Boer War - given this info is he still your grandfather?

The Hollander Corps suffered heavy casualties at Elandslaagte, perhaps he was there?
As Rory suggests, contact Dewald Nel for a copy of his Vorm B.
The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past.

I do feel the need to point out my paternal grandfather was born in 1884 and I have surviving second cousins younger than me whose paternal grandfathers were born in 1880 & 1882.:)
