Adriaan Paulus Fourie was born on 29th August 1862, in Colesberg, Bo-Karoo, Northern Cape, South Africa.
During the Boer War he was taken prisoner by the British, recorded as happening at Blesbokspruit on 15th December 1901, serving with his local Bethel Kommando, registered at St Helena on 23rd December 1901, Prisoner Number 26948.

It appears the action occurred on 10th December 1901, the despatch was sent at 7pm. The entire Commando was captured;

BETHEL COMMANDO CAPTURED - Lord Kithchener, in a brief message to the War Office, despatched on Tuesday evening from Standerton, reports that the columns working under General Bruce-Hamilton, after a night march, surprised and captured practically the whole of the Bethel Commando at Trichardsfontein early that morning. Seven Boers were killed and 151 Taken Prisoners.

He died aged 63 on 17th November 1925.
