ABO (Veldkomet W.J.M. Kleingeld). City Coins November 2009

Wynand Kleingeld initially served under Major Albrecht (Free State Artillery) and later under Genls de Wet, Brand and Nieuwoudt. He was in action, inter alia, at Belmont, Magersfontein, Abrahamskraal (Driefontein) and the Waterwerke (Sannas Post). After being taken PoW on 20 September 1901 he was sent to Shahjahanpur Camp in India and only arrived back home on 9 Feb 1903. He did not apply for the Officer’s Decoration (DTD).
