ABO / WW1 medal group to Burger Gabriel Jacobus Krause. He was with the Kroonstad Commando during the Boer war. Krause was from Mooifontein and served with the Kroonstad Commando. He was wounded in action (head wound) at the Battle of Rietfontein / Modderspruit on the 24th October 1899. This battle took place near the railway west of Elandslaagte when Martinus Prinsloo deployed six commandos to prevent the British from attacking their forces. He also saw action at Spionkop, and Modderspruit and was taken POW and then sent to India. His WW1 medal is named to Sgt G.J.Krause - Bloemhof Cmdo. I have not done any research on the WW1 part but would think that there may be some missing medals here
