Some snaps of the medal - acquired yesterday. Awaiting the Vorm B but Leibbrandt ostensibly served in the Harrismith Commando and was related to Robey Leibbrandt, the notorious South African born German spy in WWII.

Leibbrandt's Vorm B arrived today and makes for interesting reading. He claimed the medal in June 1942, some four years before his death in 1946. On the Vorm B he claimed to have been the Commanding Officer over the Ammunition Wagons. Does anyone know this rank? To my mind it sounds like a Head Conductor in Imperial Army terms.

Serving with the Harrismith Commando he was at Ladysmith, Platrand, Colenso, Spioenkop etc.

Regards

Rory
