ABO (Burger F.J. Mare)

Frederik Jacobus Mare served in the Lydenburg Commando. He was 57 when he was killed at Alleman Nek on 11 June 1900 and was reinterred in the family graveyard on the farm Vlakfontein, south-east of Belfast, on 16 December 1902.

His ABO medal was claimed by his sole surviving son in 1954.
