Barend Johannes Jacobus Pienaar a farmer of The Glen, Aberdeen, served with Scheepers Kommando from 3 March 1901. A “Cape Rebel” he served in the Aberdeen District and took part in battles in served in the Rustenburg Kommando from October 1899 to 200 January 1901 Oudtshoorn, Calvinia, Victoria and other smaller skirmishes. Laid down arms to Col McCracken of the Berkshire Regiment at Hope Town on 7 June 1902, surrendering 1 rifle, bandolier, 35 rounds, 1 horse, 1 saddle and bridle. Sentenced under Proclamation 100 of 1902 at Hope Town.
