ABO (Burg. J. J. L. Pretorius).

Served with the Potchefstroom Kommando and took part in the first battle of the Boer War at Kraaipan. He saw further service at Mafeking, Twee Rivieren, and Paardeberg, being captured at the latter, and was held as a Prisoner of War on St. Helena.
