An interesting variant in the naming: a 6 was used for the G in BURGER.

Petrus Rademeyer (Fouriesburg/Ladybrand Commando) probably was not older than 14 when he joined up approximately in May 1901 (“een voile jaar voor vrede gesluit is”). One can speculate that the occasion was the capture of a large women’s laager at Hammonia (mentioned in his application) and that he evaded capture as his mother was taken to a concentration camp.
