City Coins November 2007

Swanepoel served in the Boer war with the Potchefstroom Kommando. He was captured at Lichtenburg on 4 March 1901 and sent to Madras as a PoW.

The first, Hendrik Jacobus served in the Potchefstroom Commando was captured at Lichtenburg and sent to Madras, while the second, Hendrik Jozias, who was also later captured, served in the Wakkerstoom Commando at Gatsrand and various other actions.
