ABO (Burger C. Van der Merwe). City Coins December 2021.
The catalogue description says:
Mr C. van der Merve applied for the issue of his medal in April 1939. Although there are several individuals named Van der Merwe whose first initial is the letter āCā who served with the Potchefstroom Commando recorded on the medal roll there is only one individual whose name is recorded with a single first name. It can therefore be reliably assumed that the recipient of this medal was Carel Van der Merwe. He listed service with the Potchefstroom Commando under General B. Liebenberg taking part in the actions at Houwater, Vosburg, Fourteen Streams, Doornkop and Pretoria.
He served from November 1899 to 6 June 1900 when captured and sent to Ceylon as Prisoner of War.
