ABO (Burger J.P. van der Walt). City Coins. August 2016.

Burger Johannes Petrus van Der Walt was a “Bitterender” with the Pretoria/Waterberg Commando. He was wounded at Springs with a G.S.W. right shoulder. He joined at the outbreak of hostilities on 11 October 1899 and laid down his arms at Nylstroom with his original commando. Early June 1902 he was at Silikaatsnek, Nooitgedacht, Kaalfontein Stasie, Springs, Pienaarsrivier.

He was personally recommended in writing by General Beyers on 29 May 1903.
