ABO (Burger D.H. van Zyl). City Coins August 2010

When David van Zyl was taken PoW at Boschpoort on 25 Sept 1901, he was serving in the Boshoff Commando. However, his medal application Vorm “B” reveals that prior to that he was a member of the Johannesburg Police (ZARP) and that he was present at Dalmanutha (Berg-en-Dal), the famous “Last Stand" of the ZARPs on 27 Aug 1900.
