Even though there were six Burgers JJ Venter on the roll, research showed that only one received the "Type 2" medal. This Burger Johannes Jacobus Venter served under Genl. Liebenberg and Veldkornet Yssel of Potchefstroom and his "form B" shows that he took part in the battles at Ysterspruit, Brakspruit, Hartsrivier (Methuen) and Rooiwal. He served till the end of the war. The medal arrived yesterday. Sometimes one do get lucky.
