ABO (Burger A. J. J. Visagie). City Coins August 2016

Adriaan Visagie joined the Harrismith Commando under Genl. W. Wessels on 6 January 1900, possibly after he had turned 16. He only saw service in the Free State, e.g. during the British occupation of Bethlehem (7 July 1900) and at Groenkop (Tweefontein, 25 December 1901). He laid down arms at Reitz, after peace was declared on 31 May 1902.
