ABO (Korporaal J.H. Viviers)

Hendrik Viviers served in the Lichtenburg Commando and was in action at the first battle of the Boer War (Kraaipan, 12 October 1899) prior to being present at the surrender of the Kuruman Garrison.

His subsequent service, inter alia, was at Donkerhoek (Diamond Hill) and the Storming of Lichtenburg (3 March 1901) and he was one of 30 Burghers taken prisoner on 1 August 1901 at Tweelingpan during the great July-August drive in the Western Transvaal.

He was sent to Bermuda as PoW No 21583.
