ABO (Korpl. P.A. Zwennis). BidorBuy Octpber 2018.

Corporal Zwennis served from the beginning of the war in the Bethal Commando, seeing service at Dundee, the battles in Natal, the Boer retreat via the Orange Free State to Klip River and on to Machadodorp and Bakenlaagte. At dawn on 10 December 1901, after a night march of some 30 miles, a force of some 2000 troops under Wing, Rawlinson and Ingouville-Williams swooped down on a Boer laager at Trigaardsfontein (according to the Times History).

Zwennis was taken prisoner together with some 130 Burghers, mainly of the Bethal Commando: location Rotterdam according to his Vorm "B” and the PoW Register. He was sent to Bermuda as PoW No 26680 and came back to his farm in November 1902.
