A very pleasant function took place on Monday evening last at the charming residence of Mr D.A.D. Perry, Bulimba, in the form of a welcome and presentation to Private W. CHAMBERLAIN, of the first contingent, on his return from South Africa. The gift was in the form of a gold medal of beautiful design.

Sergeant McLEOD and Private HODGKINSON, who have recently returned from active service in South Africa, will be tendered a welcome home on Tuesday evening next, February 5, at 8 o’clock, at the School of Arts, Bulimba.

Presentation to Sergeant McLeod.

The members of the Bulimba School of Arts met last night in their hall, to make a presentation to Sergeant W. McLEOD, who has just returned from active service in South Africa. The chair was taken by Mr R. Jamieson, who presented Sergeant McLEOD with a gold medal and an illuminated address (the work of Mr Carr). An enjoyable musical programme, in which Major Lyons, Messrs McKenzie, Mullens, Bence, Thompson, and others assisted, was run through.
