Emerson Honours a Trooper.

Emerson, Dec. 4.

A magnificent reception was held in the town hall here tonight in honour of Private Sidney C. BAKER, one of the Strathcona Horse, who fought his way from Bloemfontein to Pretoria and who has recently returned from South Africa. He was presented with a valuable gold locket and clasp. The affair was a great success. Trooper BAKER sang a love song and modestly told the story of the Canadian’s march through South Africa with “Little Bobs”.
