PRESENTATION TO PRIVATE A. DOUGLAS.
Last Saturday evening, a number of friends met in the Masons’ Arms for the purpose of honouring Private A. DOUGLAS, reservist, who recently returned from eighteen months’ active service at the Front. Mr Arthur Borland occupied the chair. During the evening, the chairman presented Mr DOUGLAS with a handsome gold medal and a sum of money. The recipient suitably replied. Afterwards, a hearty vote of thanks to the subscribers was proposed and carried unanimously. Song and sentiment occupied the rest of the evening.
