At the invitation of Mr C.H. Longden, Private Alfred AMES, of the 2nd West Yorkshire Regiment, who was wounded at the battle of Spion Kop, and recently invalided home, and Private D. HAINSWORTH, of the Yorkshire Light Infantry, were present at the Queen’s Theatre on Wednesday night, and during an interval they were made the recipients of an appropriately inscribed silver medal each. The presentation was undertaken by Mr Charles Bush, the acting manager at the Holbeck house. Needless to say, there was much enthusiasm.
