PRESENTATION AT PENSHER.

Last night a smoking concert and presentation took place at the Prospect Inn, Pensher. The object was to present Mr Wm. EVANS, a reservist from the South African War, with a gold albert and medal. The chair was occupied by Mr H. Plews, secretary of the yearly fund, and Mr Geo. Davison, C.C., made the presentation. An address was given by the Rev. Mr Holmes, M.A., Rector of Pensher Parish Church, on the war. Addresses were also given by Mr Conn, of Philadelphia, and Mr R. Applegarth, of Pensher. A splendid repast was supplied by Mr and Mrs Joseph Davison, of Pensher, and about 100 persons sat down. An overture, entitled “The Fire Brigade”, was played by Mr Wardle on the piano, and songs and recitations were given by Messrs J. Harrison, H. Jones, W. Fulthorpe, R. Applegarth, Sergt. Reay, and M. Parker.
