Presentation to a Penshaw Reservist.

On Thursday night at the Prospect Inn, Penshaw, a concert and presentation took place. Mr William EVANS,  a reservist, who has only lately returned from active service in South Africa, was presented with a gold albert and medal, the latter suitably inscribed. Mr Henry Plewes, secretary of the yearly fund, presided, and Mr George Davidson, C.C., made the presentation. The Rev. Henry Holme, Rector of Penshaw Parish Church, gave an address on the Boer War. A repast was supplied by Mr and Mrs G. Davidson for over 100 persons. Messrs Wardale, Harrison, Jones, Fulthorpe, Applegarth, Serg. Reay, and M. Parker contributed a musical programme.
