ROMSEY. – Lance-Corporal T.J. KAVANAGH was accorded an enthusiastic welcome on Tuesday, upwards of 200 persons assembling at very short notice to do him honour. He was lifted into a dog cart, and, the horse having been taken out, he was drawn by a detachment of his friends through the main street, to the accompaniment of vociferous cheering. A public welcome will be tendered to Mr KAVANAGH next Wednesday evening, when he will be presented with a gold medal.
