PATRIOTIC PRESENTATION AT SPENNYMOOR.

The reception on Friday week accorded to Lance-Corporal G. HOLDER, Private T. SMITH and Private S. HARPER on their return from South Africa was in every way loyal and appreciative, and as a further memento of the appreciation of the members of the G and H Companies 2nd V.B.D.L.I. the three men were on Saturday night recipients of handsome presents. The ceremony took place in the Town Hall, Spennymoor, which was packed with Volunteers and friends.

Captain Robert Hedley, in making the presentations, consisting of a massive gold albert and gold medal suitably inscribed, complimented the men on the praiseworthy manner in which they had represented the G and H Companies 2nd V.B.D.L.I. during their sixteen months’ sojourn in South Africa.

The recipients suitably responded.
