SPALDING, January 13.
A farewell social was tendered to Trooper Walter H. McLEAN by his friends on Saturday night in the local institute. Mr Henessy, sen., presided, and presented Mr McLEAN, whose parents are residents of Spalding, with a gold pendant. Trooper McLEAN had been invalided home out of the Fifth Contingent through enteric fever. He has reenlisted in the Commonwealth Contingent, and left for Adelaide today.
