The town of Aliwal furnished a Town Guard and DMT during the war.
The roll notes the Aliwal North DMT were on active service from 4 August 1901 to 30 June 1902.
On 8 June 1901 they engaged the Boers at De Kraal and on 27 April 1902 at Kemmelkspruit when 6 prisoners were taken.
20 medals were issued in three batches. 11 were returned. 9 probably issued. 2 medals extact.
