Port Nolloth is a town and small port in Namaqualand.
A basic quay was built in 1855 which could accommodate horse-drawn wagons carrying copper ore from O'Okiep. A town sprung up in the area and was called Port Nolloth by the Governor of Cape Colony, Sir George Gray, afrer its surveyor Captain M.S. Nolloth.
In 1874, wagons were replaced by the 96 mile Namaqualand Railway and the quay was lengthened. The small harbour and the difficulties it presented to shipping meant that by 1910 most of the ore from O'Okiep was being carried by truck to the railhead at Bitterfontein.
Approximately 22 medals issued.
