Ladismith is a small town some 300km east of Cape Town. During the Boer war, it fielded a small Town Guard of some 75 men who all received no clasp QSAs.
Medals were named to the Ladismith Town Guard and the Ladismith Reserve Town Guard, around 50 and 17 respectively.
19 medals were issued to the unit on 4 August 1905, one on 19 October 1905 and 3 were returned leaving a nett of 17.
