91248 Gnr.Alfred William Pound 21st Bty. RFA. Gnr.Pound was born in the Parish of Blackheath. He joined the Royal Artillary at the age of 18yrs and 10 months on the 8 July 1892 at Woolwich. Went on to serve in India from the 22 Sept 1893 to 18 Sept 1899.South Africa 19 Sept 1899 to 3 January 1900. Severely Wounded at the battle of Elandslaagte. Home 6 January 1900 to 17 July 1900 when he was discharged.Discharge records mentions quote".. having been found medically unfit for further service" Discharge took place at Netley.
