Below is a silver-mounted glass cigarette box, presented to the Captain of the S.S. Goth by the officers of the 41st (Hampshire) and 43rd (Suffolk) Companies, 12th Bn. Imperial Yeomanry. The Goth, with E.L. Travers as Captain, sailed from Southampton on 31st January 1900, and arrived at Cape Town on 23rd February.

The box is inscribed: "PRESENTED TO / CAPTAIN E.L. TRAVERS / (S.S. 'GOTH') / BY / THE OFFICERS OF THE 41ST & 43RD / Cos IMPERIAL YEOMANRY / FEB. 27TH, 1900".
