A little more on Baker. The memorials also list Trooper Godden, so a double find!!

Brian has also sent me copies of the“b’s” from a register compiled by Wally Hyde who was employed by the Natal PWD to identify all Boer War graves in Natal. Baker is in this, but it is 20mb, so if you want a copy I might need an alternative method.

Hi Brett

I am as usual in awe of the amount of research you do to put together a probably 95%+ complete history of a medal recipients life!!

Hi Doug

Very good photos : thanks.

I have the QSA's to Eustace and Jollife : quite a story which I unravelled some 20 years ago. Will retrieve it from the depths of my "archives" and post it here in the near future.

Doug,

Excellent photos. Many thanks.

I will send you a pm about the file.

Was Arthur buried at Elandslaagte? If so, was he one of these 12?

Best wishes
David

Thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot coming from you. I spent many years researching fossils, which has helped now that I am able to concentrate on the things that most interest me.

Regards

He is buried there and looks like he is one of the 12, but no doubt wasn't actually mentioned because it was the Naval Brigade's space?

I am going to have a look at the passenger lists for the end of 1899 to see if I can spot any of them.

Doug.
