Brett stole the show yesterday with some lovely Zulu War medals, and the story behind them relating to the greatest disaster at the hands of locals the Victorian British forces had suffered up to the year 1879...he is too modest.

My year end light hearted contribution was to a lady of "possible" ill repute although her records did not quite state that...she had been in the "WAAS entertainment section" during WW2

One has to have these light hearted groups to balance out a collection, well thats how I feel.

I have been overwhelmed by all the kind comments on this thread, so I think I should point out that too much excitement could be bad for me. The specialist who treated me in hospital wrote to my GP as follows:
"In view of his advanced years I think it prudent that we treat him conservatively as much as possible."

Nevertheless, thank you to all who have taken an interest.

PS My GP was annoyed by the specialist's comment. He is a year or two older than me and he does not consider himself to be of "advanced years".
