I did think of you when I saw the recipient's name.

I don't know if it is only an English thing but every male in the family back to the 1600's has the name William in his name, first, middle, somewhere......

A friend in his family has the name Claude in his family tree.....

I managed to add a couple of Talanas today and the medal to Choles so I'm pleased so far.

Thank you for keeping bidders up to date with the sale. Although I was not one of them, I did like the Doug Jenkins collection, which would have pleased all who have an interest in Buller's Natal campaign. Choles' medal was one that I did like, so I am pleased it has gone to a good home. I thought that the prices realised for unremarkable medals were low, but those for 'good' ones made up for it.
The prices you posted for DCM's seemed to me to be shockingly low. Perhaps there have been too many on the market recently?

Hello Brett

On the BMF today the chatter on the ABW DCMs says that a major collection of Victorian DCMs has been sold off in parts recently.

Personally I think many ABW DCMs are overpriced given their lack of research potential.

I got 5 out of 7 so am very happy with that. They're all casualties. Willow Grange, Tugela Heights (Onderbroek Spruit), Wagon Hill and two more for the Defence of Ladysmith.
