Hawkeye Hendy indeed. Actually, I went down to the QVB today and had another look at the VC Corner and recorded the details of the model cannon.
Best regards
IL.

Frank, the 1918 Spring Offensive always interested me. I knew a number of Diggers who took part in the Counter Offensive and a family member won an MM on the Hindenburg Line. Without denying the great achievements of the Brits, KIWIs, Canadians in late 1918, I have quiet pride in the attainments of the AIF in the same period. And of course, the rest of the Great War for Civilization.
Regards
IL.

Hello Ian,
I think that the whole Kaiserschlacht business was really bad news, in particular, for the British Army, some battalions were actually down to half their strength because of the losses at Passchendaele.
The prime minister simply refused to supply the men needed to replace them, I suppose he really blamed Haig for the loss at Passchendaele in the first place, I can understand him, if he did.
The Australians did well at Villers Bretonneux though!
Regards again Frank

I know it is off topic; however a most interesting multi disc CD was released here a year or so titled "1918 - A Very British Victory". I sometimes take it in the car for company going to/from the range. Are you aware of the CD?

Hello Ian,
No, I have not seen that, it is quite remarkable really, every year that passes , more and more publications are released, but, notwithstanding, the history itself cannot change, the whole thing was a very tragic affair.
