Does anyone know whether this impressive memorial to Stafford volunteers still exists and if so, where? The photo is from Jeff Elson's book "The Prince of Wales's (North Staffordshire Regiment) South Africa 1899-1902.

I had a quick look for this but could not locate it. I hope it survives.

It's in the Royal British Legion Club in Stafford; I was told that before that it was in Dudley.

It's in a corridor, so not easy to photograph.

7125 Pte.. W Barker , 2nd North Staffords Died of Disease on 25101900 at Norval's Pont. Could not find a Pte. William Henry Glover; however a 7306 Pte J. Glover of Vol. Coy, 2N.Staffs Died of dIsease at wakkerstroom on 04041902. Most likely just the wrong initial.

IL.
