And a favourite of mine: one of the rosettes worn by members of Lloyd's who acted as "amateur waiters" when the men of H.M.S. Powerful's Naval Brigade were entertained to tea at Lloyd's on 7th May 1900.

“After visiting the Royal Exchange, they [the H.M.S. Powerful Naval Brigade] were entertained to tea at Lloyd’s. The Brigade was waited upon at table by members of Lloyd’s, each member who thus honoured his guests and himself wearing a rosette of red, white, and blue ribbon, in the centre of which was the gilded shield of the Corporation” (Western Gazette, 11th May 1900).

Carrying on with the Powerful theme, here is a hat ribbon based on the Naval Brigade sennit hat tally, but with added embellishments in the form of crossed flags (one of which appears to be for the City of London) and anchor surmounted by the Imperial Crown.

Below is a photograph of an HMS Powerful sennit hat, showing the tally as worn by the Naval Brigade. Also an HMS Terrible example.

Mike,

This is an interesting one.
Does the inclusion of the Canadian foreign service badge indicate that these were produced as souvenirs as well as for military issue?
